A black electric crepe maker next to a white plate of strawberry crepes and an empty white serving plate

Instead of dropping nearly $10 for crepes at the farmers market each weekend, I’m going to make my own!

With this electric crepe maker, it’s easy to make thin, delicate crepes. Simply preheat, dip the 8” nonstick surface in your favorite crepe batter, cook, and peel off your finished crepe. When you’re done, just wipe the crepe maker clean. With this at home, crepes may become a weekday breakfast too!

Moss & Stone’s electric crepe maker is about $30 at Amazon.

Mostly venting into the void – does the elementary school car line/drop off /increased commute get easier? I’m a week and half in and my time in the car in the morning has gone from 15 minutes in the morning taking my son to preschool to now at least an hour to take him to kindergarten (I have to drive the opposite direction from work and then join in all the traffic to get into work… and drive right past my street on my way in). And he had to be there an hour earlier than at preschool.

This is exhausting…. Does it get better? (And no, buses are not an option for us at this time, nor is carpooling with another family.)

Can anyone recommend a bike helmet for a (small) 14 months old? Or any resources on how to find a good one. I checked the Consumer Report but those seem to be only rated for older kids.

My 7yo son has a unibrow that’s getting thicker by the year. He doesn’t seem self-conscious about it, but my husband is wondering if we should do something about it (suggest it to him, with him making the final decision of course) before it becomes a self-esteem issue. I’m worried that course of action will make him self-conscious, and I’m wondering if teasing about body hair is as big an issue with boys?

I had a unibrow growing up and did become super self-conscious around tween age. I started having it waxed the summer before high school (and after about a decade of waxing it has “gone away”, with very minor tweezer upkeep now). I do wish my mom had helped me address it before middle school, in retrospect.

FYI, crepes are very easy to make in a regular frying pan! Just make sure it’s a flat surface and evenly hot. I don’t personally see a need to own a single use appliance for this and I make crepes for my kids a lot. Signed, a French Mom.

Regular poster going anon for this and I just want to say I am really only looking for people who have had personal experience with this and not to start a general debate: does anyone have experience with facial hair removal for younger girls (8yo in this case)? I thought this situation would present itself at a much later timepoint but it seems my beautiful girl is getting so many comments on her facial hair. I initially wanted her to wait but after reading about it, it seems the consensus of people who have actually deal with this as a child is “her body her choice” and she wants to do something. So what’s the best way? I wax and could easily show her, she’s really tough and I doubt the pain would be an issue for her but is it OK for that age? Does anyone know if laser hair removal is an option? From what I’ve read, it seems to be recommended only after puberty because of hormone-induced hair growth but even if only lasts till then, it seems like it would be very easy and maintenance free? I welcome advice, I am so sad for her and just want to find the best way to help her in her choices. Thank you!

How normal is it for the dentist to require that your kid to do the visit without you in the room? We go to a pediatric dentist and I knew this was the policy but today was the first time they’ve enforced it as my daughter turned 3 since the last visit. By all accounts it was fine, but if this isn’t the standard everywhere I probably want to go to a place where I can be in the room. My daughter’s only 3, I’m just leery of someone taking her off by herself after I’ve told her to be good and do what they ask.

Does anyone have ideas for a birthday gift for my nephew turning twelve? He’s a builder, always has been into constructing things and engineering type stuff. He’s into computer games but I know my sister is always struggling to reduce his screen time so maybe better nothing related to that. He informed me that he is past his Harry Potter phase now 😂

Has anyone dealt with ongoing school refusal/avoidance in an elementary school child? My 7 year old is refusing to go to school, running away from the drop off line. There is definitely anxiety at play here but I can’t figure it out. He just started at a new school in the town we relocated to, and the teachers are great, but it has made no difference. Have you been through this?

Question about travel car seats. I was planning to get the Cosco Scenera for a trip to Europe with my daughter, who will be 13 months then. But I’ve realized that it’s not approved for use in Europe. Do people just use it anyways? Or are there car seats approved for both the US and Europe?

Also, if anyone has a recommendation for a travel stroller, that would be helpful

joke is on me – i posted the other day about some proud parenting moments. well tuesday night my kids didnt sleep well, so yesterday morning we ended up carrying one hysterical child into the car to go to school. bedtime was a disaster with both kids crying for like an hour+ and then this morning the other child was hysterical. like 90% of the time i’ve spent with my children over the past 24 hours has involved someone crying/screaming. our nanny is out of town today so im leaving work early to pick up the kids, when i really wish i had an hour to myself. parenting is so fun sometimes.

Help me shop! I have a 10 year old girl who is justbarely starting to get interested in style. She usually wears jersey bike shorts and tee shirts. Her friends are more stylish, wearing zara and jcrew. My kid likes to be comfortable and wants to be able to play sports at recess and be competitive in PE class, so she’s not interested in dresses/shirts, jeans or restrictive/uncomfortable clothes and shoes. Is she too old for bike shorts? I cant find many in her size. Where do tweens shop? I’d love any insight!

My kitchen is too small for unitaskers.

I’m boarding a flight to see my best friend and my kid just got sent home with suspected scarlet fever. It’s like the velveteen rabbit over here. Kid has dr appt at 230, while I am midair. Just stripped down in the airport bathroom to see if I had any rash but I’ve got lupus so who knows? Fingers crossed.
