We are way overdue in getting our will together, but we’re stuck on who to name as guardians for our kids. Here are the contenders (note: DH and I and both the eldest and live in the Northeast):
My side:
Brother 1 – early 40s. Has a son. Single. Is a good dad, but isn’t the most dependable. Lives in FL.
Brother 2 – early 30s. Single, no kids, still establishing his career as a semi-pro athlete. No permanent residence. Good with kids.
Sister – mid 20s. Single, no kids, in grad school. Currently in Midwest, but probably will move back to the East Coast.
Parents: divorced, early 70s. Both in good health. Live near us.
DH side:
Brother – early 40s. Lives in same city. Long-term girlfriend, but unclear if he wants kids. Conversative leading.
In-laws – married, early 70s. Live in same city as us. Not as healthy as my parents, but in decent shape.

I think the answer is my sister, but she still feels so young and unestablished. Thoughts?

Last year when we visited them for thanksgiving, DH’s uncle gave us a nice winter coat as a hand-me-down for our son that their son grew out of. This year, the uncle has gotten divorced, and the ex-aunt has asked for the coat back. It still fits our son and we could use it this winter. We could easily afford a new coat, so it’s not a big deal. I’m just a bit miffed about it.

Toy recommendations for Christmas for a 3.5 year old? She already has a number of stuffed animals, magnatiles, play kitchen, little kid chair, scooter, easel plus art supplies… we typically only give one gift from us so we’re flexible on price though we typically aim for ~$60-100. We don’t have too much space so a nugget probably wouldn’t work.

Does anyone have recommendations for resources on weaning off of formula? The time is coming just after Thanksgiving. My baby is not at all bottle obsessed (pros and cons…) so I’m debating whether to try a gradual approach or cut bottles cold turkey. We offer 5 a day still but lately he’s only interested in 4 and a bit. He can drink from a straw cup but the one we have seems better suited for water (not totally spill proof) so would appreciate recs and approaches there. Should we go straight to cow’s milk in a straw cup? How often?

How many sets of pajamas do your kids have? Do they re-wear before washing? I feel like I am constantly buying more pajamas because my kid does not like to re-wear his between laundry days.
