Family Friday: Cropped V-Neck Sweater

This post may contain affiliate links and CorporetteMoms may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

A girl wearing a white top, blue jeans, and a navy sweater. The V-neck neckline has white and red stripes.

This sporty sweater would be a great addition to your kid’s back-to-school wardrobe.

This waist-length sweater is woven from a soft cotton blend and features dropped shoulders and a preppy V-neck trim. Just add jeans or even a swingy pleated skirt for tennis vibes.

Old Navy’s Girls’ Cropped V-Neck Sweater is on sale for $17.99 (marked down from $29.99) and comes in sizes XS-2X as well as plus sizes. In addition to navy, it also comes in an off-white and a Halloween version (and we’re not even halfway through September!).

Recommendation for toddler shoes? My 2-year old’s shoes don’t stay closed. The velcro seems to have worn out, even though the shoes are only a few months old. Recommendations for brands that last? Her feet don’t seem to grow fast.

TW: miscarriage

Mostly venting, though would take advice if anyone has it! I am 5 weeks pregnant after a miscarriage and my anxiety is through the roof. I am convinced this pregnancy will end the same way. I stupidly kept taking pregnancy tests thinking it would make me feel better and yesterday got a slightly fainter line. I know this doesn’t mean anything but now I’m trying to work in a daze just waiting for the worst to happen.

i have what might be a dumb question – active dresses with shorts – do you remove the whole dress to go to the bathroom?

anyone else think cropped sweaters shouldn’t exist?

Has anyone built/renovated a house and had the process drag out MUCH longer than expected? How did you finally get your GC across the finish line without losing your mind?

We moved in almost a year ago (the day before I was induced with baby #2!) and still have a substantial punch list. Custom cabinets were delayed 6+ months, we had a flood due to a plumber’s negligence, and there have been countless things that needed to be redone.

At this point, I’m at my wit’s end. I WFH, have two young kids + a nanny here during the day, and cannot keep having trades in and out of the house indefinitely.

For those who have been there: what actually got your GC motivated to FINISH? When do you stop being patient and start getting formal/bitchy? I genuinely can’t tell anymore what’s normal construction frustration vs. completely unreasonable. Would love advice from anyone who has survived this with their sanity and marriage intact!

Something interesting for a slow Friday (interesting to me, anyway!) – what’s one thing you excel at as a mom, and what’s one thing you want to work on?

Excel: I make ordinary moments fun and funny and I make our weekends worth it.

Want to work on: I tend to get overwhelmed on busy days, especially if I watch my limited PTO draining away as, say, a doctor is late for our appointment, and I’m not the best at compartmentalizing that stress.

Anyone have experience with kids and visual processing issues?

DD8 complains that when she reads a chapter book, ‘the words all squish together’ and she loses her place. She doesn’t have trouble decoding words, reading sparse text on a page like graphic novels, or comprehending meaning when she’s able to read all the text. Last well visit a couple months ago found 20/20 vision in one eye and 20/25 in the other. I don’t think it’s strabismus, she has no visibly crossed eyes or headaches with reading.

What sort of specialist am I looking for? If your kid had similar issues, what was your journey like – at what age were they diagnosed and what were the interventions?
