I love baking. I finally bought cookie scoops like these, and they’re a game changer.
If you’ve got some serious baking on the horizon like me, these scoops will make your life easier. You’ll get consistent round drops of dough every time — just squeeze the soft grip handles and out comes the dough. This set includes three sizes to cover all your cookie baking needs.
This set of three cookie scoops by OXO is under $40 at Amazon.

I do a lot of heavy drafting, and need to periodically read very light things in between big documents or heavy paragraphs. I used to read the Washington Post, the main page and this one. I’m staying off major news outlets for now, and same with the main page. Any other suggestions for light, fun reading? I used to love first person blogs (amalah, others), but most bloggers have stopped regularly posting. I like reading about people’s lives and kids, and a lot of home decor, travel, and cooking pages honestly overwhelm me out because I do not have the bandwidth, skills, or budget to implement most of what they showcase. Suggestions?
Planning on getting away for inauguration weekend, told my mom our plans, and she said “Maybe we’ll meet you there.” (we’re heading to a very popular vacation area somewhat close to her). I said sure, thinking a dinner? maybe one day?, and she asked for details on where we’re staying and when. Now I feel trapped and alarmed about her expectations, and my husband is going to be annoyed. I know I need to have a conversation with her spelling out expectations and she’ll be gracious no matter what I say, but I don’t want to hurt her feelings and I also feel guilty for wanting it to be just our family most of the time. There’s only so many feelings and preferences I can juggle in one vacation. If it was up to my mom she would come on every single vacation with us. Wah.
Would love a refreshed list of where I can find girls’ leggings for my bigger-than-average daughter. She’s 5, 60 pounds, and wears a size 8 (which fits her waist and thighs but are generally much too long!).
Taking my 1 mo and 2.5 yo in to get passports today. Any advice on getting the pictures?
Anyone use any supplements for their kids like magnesium, b6/b12, zinc? I’m usually very skeptical of all this but its come up repeatedly for adhd and i figured it couldnt hurt but its hard to know where to start. Our pediatrician doesnt do functional medicine, so I’d have to find a new one..
anyone else’s children still not back to regular sleep schedules post-time change? my 6-year-old twins are waking up too early, and while this does make mornings more pleasant in that, I am not waking my children from deep sleep, the evenings are a disaster and i dont want my kids waking up before 6 am! any tips to get them back on track? i dont recall them taking this long to adjust in previous years
How can I make exclusive pumping suck less 3 weeks PP? My nipples are sore, my hands are chapped from washing all this plastic crap all the time, it’s not recommended for me to do the fridge hack because my baby was preterm, and I have an incredibly supportive husband but even he needs to get some sleep. I’m beginning to resent having to put my baby down from snuggles to run back to the hospital grade pump. Any tips and tricks to get through the next few weeks until I can hopefully breastfeed directly? My baby needs fortified formula and breastmilk right now so it’s not an option at the moment – although I let him practice latching and my nipple was screaming anyway. Help!
My son is 4.5 and wears a 4t-5t. We have been using the target brand training pants for the past couple of years for overnight. It appears they have stopped making them, and I bought name brand pull-ups last week. He has had overnight leaks twice already. They appear to fit him similarly to the target brand, but we never had leaks before this.
Any recs on another brand? We aren’t quite ready to deal with night training and I’m tired of 1am bedding changes
