Nursing Tuesday: High/Low Jersey Cardigan

I’m always amazed when I come across something I bought several years ago that’s still in stock. I first got acquainted with this high/low jersey cardigan from Bobeau at when I was nursing my first son — I wanted something that was warm and soft and washable that had a little bit of color. It seemed like everything I was finding at the time was gray, and all the mothers on TV and in movies were wearing gray, and I thought that since I already felt exhausted and super blah after having a baby, I wanted something more colorful. This cardigan has been at Nordstrom for a thousand years and is great for the weekend and for around the house. For nursing, it isn’t quite as discreet as Bobeau’s fleece wrap cardigan (which also comes in plus sizes) … but honestly I’ve never liked that one. If you’re nursing in public, though, I can see how it could be better — but I liked this one for nursing around the house. It comes in eight colors at Nordstrom for $58, and although it occasionally comes in petite sizes, they’re not currently available, it seems. The fleece wrap cardigan is on sale for $39 and has an incredible 3,900 reviews. High/Low Jersey Cardigan

Nursing/Postpartum Tuesday: Riley Plaid Shirtdress

Loyal Hana Shift DressAvert your eyes from the sneakers (though kind of good to know it will look cute on your commute?), and note that this lovely maternity dress ALSO has those clever Loyal Hana zippers for nursing access — so it’s good while you’re pregnant, as well as afterwards. I like the loose fit and the split neckline, as well as the black/white plaid.  Riley Plaid Maternity/Nursing Shirtdress

Nursing Tuesday: Maternity Floral Midi Wrap Dress

This really cute maternity dress has a slight high/low hemline and a nice little daisy print or rose print, depending on which pattern you choose. It has a V-neck with a hidden snap at the overlap panels for easy nursing, and there are on-seam pockets at the hips, hooray! So if you’re looking for something that would be good for maternity as well as through nursing, do consider this dress. While it does look a little less sleek, shall we say, than some of the sheath dresses and others, I think that, a) while you’re pregnant you can get away with more things, if that’s your style, and b) if you throw on a shrunken cropped blazer with this, it’ll be very cute, so keep that in mind. The dress is $69.95 at Gap in sizes XS-XL. Maternity Floral Midi Wrap Dress

Nursing/Postpartum Tuesday: Slow Flow Bottles

We never needed slow flow bottles, just because the boys didn’t drink from bottles enough that acid reflux was something we really needed to think about (or maybe they just didn’t have a problem with it). But I’m always interested to see new products, and I know that moms can go though a million bottles trying to find the ones you like for your kids. These bottles from Comotomo certainly are very stylish and also have a very natural look about them, and they’re getting really good reviews. So if you’re looking for something to try because your baby is not taking a bottle, or if you definitely need a slow flow bottle, do check these out. (Nordstrom has the 5-oz. size, and Amazon, where the bottles literally have thousands of good reviews, has both the 5-oz. and 8-oz.Slow Flow Bottles
