While a chunky fisherman sweater might read OOO, this fine cable knit cardigan is presentation-ready.

This timeless cardigan pairs perfectly with your favorite fall trousers. Add some elegant jewelry and a pair of polished pumps for an office-friendly outfit that doesn’t try too hard.

Ann Taylor’s Cable Crewneck Cardigan is $119 and comes in XXS-XXL as well as petites. It’s available in a rich red and gray.

Any tricks for booking plane travel these days? Does using an incognito window help with cookies that will artificially keep my price high? Now that Southwest has gone mainstream, what is the best way to fly with them? I need to book our annual Christmas with the grandparents across the country which is always an expensive mess, but this year feels even more so.

For fun- what weird habits do you think you’re passing down to your kids?

I was an adult before I realized the following weren’t standard things and just weird traits of my Mom: grilled cheese and apple sauce, calling tall table “high boys”, and you actually can see/drive just fine when the backseat light is on.

The bedding comment below made me realize I’m inadvertently teaching my kids to sleep on fitted sheets + a loose blanket.

anyone have some cute halloweeny snacks to make at home, for a small adults and kids party? I’m not going for pinterest worthy, but I don’t mind a craft.

I live in NYC so somewhat embarrassing to have to ask yet have some visiting family friends (of my husbands) that I really don’t know very well over the weekend and into next week. Two women in their early thirties. Ideas of NYC things that would be fun for them to do but also fun for my school age kids? I feel like I’m blanking but am probably out of the loop of what’s fun for visitors.

What are your go to pantry meals? It’s time to stock the pantry ahead of our usual winter weather, and other than pasta with sauce, I’m having trouble thinking of things my people will eat that I’ll actually want to cook while stuck in the house.
While we always have the quick and easy tuna, canned beans, and other ‘survival food’, I’m looking more for slightly interesting meal ideas.

This Halloween, I’m going to open the door to trick or treaters wearing my Omnilux mask….. just kidding, I would never do that! My husband knocked on our bedroom door while I was using the mask the other night. I opened the door, and he was like, “Oh my gawd!” I’d kept the mask a secret until that point. Anyways, got me thinking ;)

Feeling randomly grateful to people on this board for modeling so many different ways to parent. For me, that’s what makes this place different from anywhere on the internet — when someone has an issue, rather than just some influencer yelling that there is One Correct Way, we get to hear what works for different kids and different families. Your stories have made me a better parent and a less judgmental person (ok fine I’m still judgmental about some things but at least now I usually have the self-awareness to keep it to myself).

Has anyone gotten involved with Schools Beyond Screens? Interested to hear experiences and potentially get involved.

My 22-month old has been refusing to go to sleep at night and crying a lot for the past couple of weeks. We had been going back in for more rocking/singing, but it was getting up to 4 times before she’d quiet down and fall asleep. Last night we tried to cry it out but she cried for over an hour. Any suggestions? She’s still taking a good 2-hr nap every day, and she seems tired at bed time (around 7 pm).
