Any recommendations on areas to stay/visit/activities to do in Puerto Rico? We’re going over New Years
Okay, I know I’ve talked about it on here, but husband and I are going to look at doing the Big Reno. The plan is to basically take off a 1960’s kitchen addition and replace it with a two story addition which allows for another bedroom and an open and functional kitchen/dining room.
We have a contractor we have used and very much trust, but I’m looking for somebody like on ‘love it or list it’ who will help us figure out the most functional layout for our family. Our contractor is more old school but I’m only finding like design and built firms. Is this something I can do virtually?
I think I can finally get back into casual dresses and skirt for work, after 5 years in the tunnel of reproductive body-sharing. I think I’ll mostly go for above-the-knee knits with cropped jackets over them–fashionable or not, that’s my comfort zone. I can’t afford a shopping spree, but I need to intentionally replace some staples soon.
What updated tweaks would you suggest for this? What shoes?
How are you all feeling regarding the advent of AI (particularly Artificial Super Intelligence) and its implications for your family’s future? It’s taking up a lot of my mental energy right now. I’m so concerned.
Minor rant ahead. Why do all the children’s-specific attractions around me open so late on the weekend? I’m talking indoor play gyms, small local amusement parks geared towards under-5s, the children’s museum. Everything opens at 10 or 11 am, by which time I’ve already lived 3 lives. We can’t squeeze most of those things plus lunch and drivetime before naptime and there’s only so many times I’m willing to accept a way-worse-sleep-and-shorter car nap. I would buy a membership to some of these places if we could go at 8! Don’t even get me started on some of these places (including our local, publicly funded library) not opening AT ALL on the weekends. Super tough being a working mom sometimes.
We have a new turned two year-old and he is still having one bottle of cow’s milk at night before brushing teeth and bed. We weren’t in a hurry to transition him off it because he used to be small for his age and was a few weeks premature, but I’d like to revisit it now. He won’t drink it out of a sippy cup, at least not lately, and if he drops this bottle, he probably won’t replace it with more milk at meals. My husband is more concerned about dehydration than I am (not a big drinker) and I’d more have my eye on calcium, fat, and protein. Our son wants the bottle, any way he can. Any suggestions for how to approach this?
