I am at my wit’s end with the elaborate railroads, battles, castles, etc that DS builds. I love that his imagination goes wild when he’s building, but he keeps taking over our hallways and mudroom in ways that make it impossible for the family to move around the house. Then he throws a fit if asked to take it down. I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve said he can’t build in hallways or other places that people need to walk and might trip. He has an entire playroom, family room, and bedroom available to him. But every time I turn my back there is a new empire/ epic battle/ etc. What are your rules around this kind of thing? And how do you handle consequences? I am so sick of having the same conversation. Btw he’s 7.

Does anyone else feel like shame, or stupid when their tampon leaks? Like I’ve had a period for 20+ years this should not be happening! But also peri-menopause is unpredictable why am I so hard on my self? Not sure what I’m looking for here, just that I’m not the only 40+ year old tying a sweater around her waste at work I guess.

I’ve watched 4 or 5 episodes of The Pitt. I have been okay so far with most of what has happened, but I understand there may be worse tragedies to come… have any moms here watched the whole season and do you recommend? Or are you still haunted by it?

To the person asking about primary leggings: I agree that they are very slim. I highly recommend Uniqlo’s leggings for something more comfortable that will last forever.

What is your strategy for passing out Halloween candy? Do you give fun size or full size candy bars? How many pieces of candy do you give to each kid? Do you grab the pieces of candy and give it to them, or hold out the candy bowl and let them pick? And how many trick-or-treaters do you usually get?

Are there any brands that continue to make looser-fit baby pajamas after age 12 months? I know about the law requiring snug fit for flame resistance if flame-ret@rdant chemicals aren’t being used (don’t get me started on that), but we can barely get our baby into super slim-fit sleeves and he screams like a banshee. If we size up, he’s drowning in the length. Any brands that have somehow made this work (without the use of FR chemicals)?
