If you’re a fan of Herschel’s backpacks and bags, you’ll love their diaper bag.
Made from recycled materials, their messenger-style Strand Duffle Diaper bag has ample space for everything you need for a day out with your baby. It includes a folding changing mat, adjustable straps for attaching to your stroller, and snap-down extensions you can release for more room.

What’s the best way to accommodate a kid who is food dye free at a birthday party? I thought I could bring a cupcake but I’m having a hard time finding vanilla cupcakes without dyes. If I bring chocolate cupcakes then I feel like I’d need to have enough for all the kids (the cake is vanilla, so a chocolate cupcake might be more appealing to many of the kids) but having a cake and two dozen cupcakes feels excessive and wasteful.
Looking for nature based attractions to do in Tampa in March with a 5yo/7yo (they’re both energetic and physically fit). We had to last minute change some vacation plans and have 3.5 days in Tampa. Before Tampa we’ll be in Clearwater beach. We will do ZooTampa (been there before and love it). Not interested in Busch Gardens. We’ll have a car. We may possibly do the aquarium, but our family tends to be more interested in outdoor experiences, hikes, parks, etc…We aren’t looking for totally kid centric things. There’s obviously a lot of options so I’m looking for anything anyone has loved.
Several of you recommended the Reading Eggs app for emerging readers. My first grader loved it but the placement test put her near the end of the program so she finished it already. Is there an app you would recommend for the next level up? Reading Eggs seems more about teaching the phonics rules, which she knows, but the reading fluency and speed is not there yet.
Random question…do any of you have an app that keeps a record of your screen time for longer than the standard month-ish that Apple stores it? For the last couple of weeks I’ve been trying to keep my “phone pickups” under 40 per day and it’s been a super successful way of keeping me off my phone, but I’d love to be able to track it for longer.
I read the post and comments about OT/Motor stuff late on Friday – wow! I really, really appreciated So Anon’s posts and perspective as someone with “bigger” kids. So Anon, as someone with kids who are preschool/early elementary, your POV is invaluable, and I’m glad you’re here. :)
I’m in Canada and we are on day 3 of the snowpocalyspe. Of course my daycare is closed. Any fun ways to entertain a 2 year old? I’m a big believer in playing outside in all weather, but its windy and miserable and the snowbanks are to my waist. We are bored with our toys and have watched more tv than I care to admit.
