A set of Laneige glowy lip minis

At holiday time, one of my favorite things to buy (for others and myself!) are Sephora’s gift sets. This year, I’m eyeing this mini lip treatment set from Laneige.

This practical set includes four mini sizes of Laneige’s bestselling Glowy balms in berry, gummy bear, blueberry, and mango. Beneath these fun flavors are serious ingredients like shea and murumuru seed butters that moisturize and nourish parched lips. Stash one in your purse, car, desk, and travel bag.

Laneige’s lip treatment set is on sale for $17.50 (down from $25).

Does anyone have experience with the Every Mother fitness program? I’m dealing with bad DR still a year and a half after my last kid was born. Already seeing a PF Therapist who has given me a regimen of exercises but their Black Friday ads are chasing me around and I’m debating if I would benefit from having a broader guided program too.

anyone have a tried and true m&m cookie recipe?

If there’s anyone with a kid with partial hearing loss, I’d love to hear about your experiences with hearing aids or deciding not to use them. I myself recently learned I have bilateral moderate hearing loss (an atypical kind, not upper registers) and am really struggling to adjust to hearing aids / deciding they are not helpful for many situations- plus they are sooo easy to lose. Based on my type of loss (inheritable) and the fact kiddo often doesn’t respond to us, we had my kid screened at his ped and it looks like he likely does have some hearing loss in one ear. Making an audiology appointment now so we’ll obviously get the medical advice, but having just gone through this I’m super curious about people’s experiences with their own children. Specifically interested in one-ear hearing loss or mild , where you light have been debating whether to get aids or not. Thanks!

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for activities or getaways from the DC area for a 3 and 5 year old plus newborn for the two weeks preschool is closed this Christmas? The big kids have already been very sick since the baby came home and always get sick every year when we go to the indoor play place where my parents live during the holidays. So I’m trying to figure out some ways to keep everyone entertained but healthy! And it’s super hard! We already go to the botanical garden train display in DC and the Mormon temple lights and/or meadowlark lights. I wish we could travel but I can’t think of anything within driving distance that also doesn’t have us stuck inside miserable?? Or exposed to a million other germy kids?

My very stressful inlaws were in town for the holiday and my fifth grader had a big event. She was very stressed and ended up having an emotional breakdown. Removed herself to my car (we were outside) and my MIL kept walking by making everything worse – I go to check on her again and she’s scratching herself saying she’s trying to make herself bleed. But not actually doing so (which she pointed out later). Nonetheless, not awesome.

Kid is already in therapy once a week for her anxiety but otherwise highly functional – having a great year at school, great friendships, etc. But I clearly want to take this behavior seriously. I’ve got a visit scheduled with her pediatrician this week and I’ve also put in a call to a different place to maybe try a different therapist. Considering going to see the psychiatrist we saw back when we diagnosed the anxiety but decided not to medicate.

Has anyone dealt with this? Sound like I’m approaching it the right way?

Potty training question: When did you drop the nighttime pull-up? My 3.5 year old has been waking up dry for the last week. She has also been saying she doesn’t want a pull-up at night anymore. I think it might be time….but I’m also worried

Any tips for TTC when you’ve got a spouse gone traveling half the time and a 2 year old? This wasn’t an issue 3 years ago, but now that we’re ready for a second it feels like it’s impossible.

I would appreciate help brainstorming ideas for parenting goals in 2026. I’m really just choosing areas to focus on, but it can be nice to have a milestone for completion.

Kids will be 1 and 4 yo. In the past I’ve set goals like potty training, EBF (no flame war please–it worked well for us), and being more patient in the mornings…

Putting out good vibes — we had the most peaceful Thanksgiving I’ve had since becoming a parent. We hosted at a local AirBNB, and we had six kids stay for four days in a totally screen free home with MINIMAL fighting (my oldest and youngest were really the only ones who were bickering).

The kids played games, put on skits, made fires, and played outside by the creek. My sister and I cooked the whole meal together, while my mom chilled by the fire/read books. The youngest kid was 6, so we basically let the kids free range/watch over each other while we prepped. Then we ate at 5:30, had time for skits and dessert, and were all in bed by like midnight after a marathon series of card games.

So! There is light at the end of the tunnel – I used to dread, and I mean DREAD, holidays with babies and toddlers. The nap schedules! The fights over food!

Granted, last night ended in tears for all of us, as we hit the wall in driving home, trying to set up a Christmas tree, and unpacking, so we all have our limits – but I’m thankful the actual holidays went as well as we could have hoped for.

Just a vent but my 8 year old is alternating between really babyish behaviour + sarcastic tween and gosh this weekend was rough. Last night, he refused to go upstairs to shower for a minute or two, just crossed his arms stubborn staring at me, and then went upstairs and burst into tears about feeling so guilty. There’s a lot going on at the moment so I’m trying to be empathetic – but the sass /backchat is absolutely my number one trigger.

I need a vacation after that long weekend alone with my 2-year old. Please, someone tell me that kids eventually get more logical and that you can reason with them.

Yesterday night, we had three tantrums just about bathtime – first, she didn’t want a bath. Then, she was mad that it wasn’t ready yet. And finally, she threw a tantrum because she wanted to get back in after we got out. Made all the worst by the fact that I’m pregnant, feel terrible, and can’t sleep. I’m not looking forward to a full week and a half together at Christmas, although hopefully the family will help.

If you’ve been to London with elementary age kids, what were your top 1-2 things?
I’m taking my 8 year old in May and we’ve booked the Harry Potter studio tour, afternoon tea and the new Paddington musical on the West End but I’m struggling to figure out which of the many museums, playgrounds and other sights we should do. We’re staying for over a week but still can’t fit in everything I’ve seen recommended here and elsewhere.

Also, are there any places you’d recommend doing guided tours? I was not much of a tour person pre-kid but I’ve found they go a long way towards keeping kids engaged at historical sites so I’m wondering if we should book them for the Tower of London and/or the British Museum. The price is a lot to stomach though, especially at the British Museum which would otherwise be free.

Will also take any food recs – especially in or near Covent Garden where we’re staying. Thank you!

Speech therapy question. I have a 9.5 yo who never had her r or s sounds fully develop so she still sounds like a little kid when she speaks. She’s been doing speech therapy through her school and they just “graduated” her from the program because she can now form the correct sounds under testing conditions. The issue is that she still uses the improper sounds in her regular speech and it hasn’t improved. What is the next step? Do we just assume she’ll eventually start using the correct sounds? Pay for more speech therapy, if so, what speech therapy?

My tweens (10 and 12 yo) have started verbally sparing and it’s driving me nuts. They generally get along, but they’ve started doing back and forth verbal battles trying to one up each other over stupid things, each trying to be more clever. It seems to mostly be a form of entertainment though isn’t always nice as it tends to escalate into insults. Any suggestions for shutting this down before I lose my mind? Telling them to knock it off isn’t working.

hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving! i’m on pins and needles this morning as DH finds out within an hour whether or not he is getting promoted. He’s in finance, but this would be a big promotion and indicative of whether or not he has a future at his firm.
