I’ve tried a lot of the brands mentioned in our comfortable heels guide — but I must say that the one of my favorite pair of shoes ever was from Anne Klein’s iFlex line. I like the super flexible fit (it can bend up to 90 degrees!), the 2″ heel, and the comfortable ankle strap. The price is also great: it’s $79, full price at Zappos. I have a pair of black iFlex heels – cloth and patent leather – that I cannot bear to part with because of their work-appropriateness and comfortable fit. They’ve seen far better days, yet they’re the best heels to wear in rainy weather because the cloth portion of the upper breathes and dries very quickly (so I don’t have to wear separate rain boots).
Equivalent to the comfort of the iFlex heels, I have a pair of navy Kelly and Katie heels. Have you tried them, Kat?

Good in the rain, you say? How timely of a review for me. (watches rain out window…) I realized this week that somehow all my rainy-weather appropriate flats and heels expired leaving me with boots and one does-NOT-go-with-everything flat.

Pop quiz: Are my maternity jeans (full panel, Old Navy) not staying up because (a) they are too small; (b) they are too big; or (c) the panel is not stretchy/tight enough; (d) other?
hoola hoopa says
(e) Any of the above.
With full panel, though, I generally find that they fall down when too big. Or, more specifically, when your belly is still too small. IME, the opposite is true of demi panel (if they fall down, it’s usually because they are too small).
Spirograph says
+1. My maternity jeans (leftover from pregnancy #1) are giving up. The part that is denim fits, but the full panel is done, and I keep having to hike them up. So for me, c. But any of the other situations are totally plausible as well.

Hey Pogo and all you other people who are working on the whole ‘Mom’ thing. How’s it going? This is our first month of actually trying and I have convinced myself that it’s going to take a while. I have no logical basis for this at all, but it’s kind of sucky to be so negative about this.
I’m also finding myself very aware of every feeling in my body. I ran a marathon on Sunday, so I’ve been a little tired and I’m totally thrown off by the fact that I’m supposed to rest and not exercise for like a week afterwards. If I feel a little nauseous, I find myself internally yelling ‘THIS IS NOTHING. STOP THINKING.” (Ellen caps totally happen in my head, btw).
Based on calendars, etc., next week is verdict time for this go around. I have asked my husband to not talk about it at all and I don’t want to share with friends IRL, but GAH. This whole waiting thing is for the birds. Ya know, I might just go and pee on a stick for fun. A friend handed me a bunch of the cheapies. It might be better just to go for it… Dr. Google tells me that I wouldn’t be unreasonable to test.
So… apparently, typing this out has been incredibly therapeutic. I am going to go pee on a stick and I’ll tell ya if anything happens.

Update: It was negative. I knew it would be, but this was kind of like exposure therapy for me… Thanks for letting me vent just a bit.

Good luck. Husband and I took 1.5 years. It was an emotional roller coaster with every test.
