We’ve featured a couple of Kimi and Kai dresses before — the brand has comfortable, affordable workwear like this stretch-jersey dress. It’s a pretty simple dress that you could dress up or down, it comes with a removable belt, and it’s machine washable. Pleats like this aren’t that common in maternity dresses, so it’s nice … Read More about Maternity Monday: ‘Shannon’ Maternity Dress
Family Friday: Primaloft Hybrid Jacket
I noticed yesterday that Lands’ End has some killer sales on boys coats, such as this Primaloft Hybrid Jacket (now $21-$25 down from $79), so I bought two sizes for my kiddos. These aren’t terribly warm — their temperature rating is 25-45 degrees — but they look like cute little sporty jackets, and I love … Read More about Family Friday: Primaloft Hybrid Jacket
Washable Workwear Wednesday: Faux Wrap Dress
We’ve mentioned the wrap dress from Lark & Ro before, but I’m kind of in awe of the number of configurations right now — short sleeves! Long sleeves! Real tie! Faux tie! Ruffles! Knots! Ribbons! And a zillion prints and colors. I like this black and white print (great for hiding stains), as well as … Read More about Washable Workwear Wednesday: Faux Wrap Dress
Postpartum Tuesday: Cafe Crossover Bag
Whoa. I’m done with the diaper stage of things, but this bag looks so cool that I still want it. After all, who doesn’t need a bag you can wear four ways (small shoulder, backpack, crossbody, or with stroller clips) and has a built-in wipes dispenser? It also has a front insulated pocket and is … Read More about Postpartum Tuesday: Cafe Crossover Bag
Makeup & Beauty Monday: Camomile Eye Makeup Remover
Somewhere at the top of my “beauty empties” list (the products I use up and then buy again) is The Body Shop’s camomile eye makeup remover. (My spellcheck doesn’t like “camomile,” but apparently that’s the British spelling.) I love it! I’ve tried other makeup removers, and they either had an unpleasant smell or just didn’t … Read More about Makeup & Beauty Monday: Camomile Eye Makeup Remover
Weekend Open Thread
Something on your mind? Chat about it here. I always think of myself as looking for plums or a slightly taupe sort of lipcolor, and I hunted for a long time for an everyday red, eventually giving up the search. So I was really surprised when I picked up this Clinique Chubby Stick and loved … Read More about Weekend Open Thread
Family Friday: Candy Land The World of Sweets Game
My three-year-old son, H, is not really playing board games yet, which is similar to my older son, J, who was around three and a half when he started. I recently downloaded The Orchard by HABA for $3.99 on iTunes, and it’s a very easy game — there’s no setup, which is nice, and he can play it by himself. I think that primed us for Candy Land, which is a great first game, so this app is good if you’re looking for something even easier to get them started. I’d love to hear from you guys about your favorite board games for kiddos, especially first games. Candy Land is $12.99 at Amazon. Candy Land The World of Sweets Game

Budget Thursday: Hestley Loafer
If we’d had an Accessory Tuesday this week, I would have posted this Paul Green loafer (even though I’m not normally a loafer girl). These $40 loafers from Indigo Rd. are much more affordable and come recommended from a reader, who said they’re a great option for wearing with ankle pants and so on. She said … Read More about Budget Thursday: Hestley Loafer
Washable Workwear Wednesday: Scuba Sheath Dress
Ooh: this washable sheath dress reminds me of the much (much) more expensive Ted Baker twofer dresses that have been so popular — but I kind of like this one better because it’s washable, sleeveless, and the dark colors of the patterned skirt and solid top are perfect for working moms who may want to … Read More about Washable Workwear Wednesday: Scuba Sheath Dress
Maternity Tuesday: Dolman-Sleeve Bodycon Dress
This Old Navy dress, which is available only online, looks great. Note that the blue and red are almost all sold out (and the green is gone), but there are still a lot of sizes left in the black and “longstocking red” (which looks orange on my screen, at least). They’re all on sale right … Read More about Maternity Tuesday: Dolman-Sleeve Bodycon Dress
Family Friday: Bamboo Baby Washcloths
In terms of the fancier options out there for washcloths — like muslin, bamboo, and flannel — I prefer muslin for my own face, but I feel bad that I didn’t have these bamboo baby washcloths when my sons were still in diapers. When your kid has a rash and you’re trying to be as gentle … Read More about Family Friday: Bamboo Baby Washcloths
Organizing Thursday: 4-Cube Organizer
I’ve often seen bins like this at Crate & Barrel and elsewhere for $200–$300. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that was $50 for a fairly large shelf, but Target has them. (That price means you put it together yourself, of course.) It looks like a good find if you’re on the hunt for … Read More about Organizing Thursday: 4-Cube Organizer
