Nursing Tuesday: V-Neck Maternity/Nursing Top

This really cute v-neck maternity/nursing top is from Maternal America. I like that it’s got a little bit of an edge — there are suede accents at the shoulders — and that it can be worn during both pregnancy and nursing. The rayon blend is hand washable. The top is available in sizes XS-L at Nordstrom for $110, but unfortunately Large is sold out. V-Neck Maternity/Nursing Top

Pumping Tuesday: Wrap Top

When I was pumping, I always just preferred to push up a t-shirt or other pullover style — but many readers have noted that they like a wrap blouse best for pumping. This wrap top at Nordstrom (new colors out for spring, and it’s on sale right now) is the one I’ve heard is the “perfect” top for pumping — but it’s worth noting that Topshop has a number of pretty wrap blouses right now too, including the pictured floral wrap top on sale for $35 (down from $65). Nursing Tuesday: Undercover Mama Nursing Camisole

best nursing camisole for working mothersI’ve featured this before, but for some reason this camisole was on my mind yesterday — it was my very favorite camisole for nursing. I liked the tightness (I had the 360 shaping one), and I liked the odd straplessness, where it just attaches to your bra — it made every other camisole feel like I was swimming in straps. It raised the neckline of everything so that it felt appropriate, even with my huge nursing boobs, and didn’t ride up. Win win. It comes in 14 different colors at Amazon in the basic version, as well as a few other specialty versions (a longer version if you want it peeking out beneath clothes, a shaping version if you want compression, etc, etc). Undercover Mama

Nursing Tuesday: Swiss Dot Wrap Dress

I’ve known a lot of women over the years who have loved this dress, and if you like to pump or nurse in a wrap dress, you should definitely check this one out. It’s machine washable, and the style is great if your weight is fluctuating and you’re adjusting to a a post-baby body. If you like this, you should snap it up right away because BCBG doesn’t seem to be doing too well — they’ve closed brick-and-mortar stores and I just read that they’re preparing for bankruptcy. This is a great deal at Saks Off 5th — it’s marked down from $198 to $30-$40 and they seem to have a lot from the brand. (Note that it’s final sale.) BCBGMaxAzria Swiss Dot Wrap Dress

Nursing Tuesday: Layered Pencil Dress

This dress only has a few reviews so far, but it’s highly rated — customers say it’s quite comfortable and very easy to nurse in, and that they’re ordering multiples. I like the high, very modest neckline and the stretchy fabric, as well as the cost and the great color options. It looks great for either nursing or maternity, so I think if I were looking for a dress for the end of pregnancy and/or the beginning of the postpartum period I would give this one a try. It’s $23-$31 at Amazon in sizes 4/6 to 14/16 (with Prime shipping). Happy Mama Maternity Nursing Layered Pencil Dress

What to Wear to Work After Maternity Leave

What to Wear to Work After Maternity Leave | Tips for Working MothersWhat should you wear to work after maternity leave? We got an email a while ago from a reader who posed this interesting question. What is the “safest” choice to make so you look like a rational person who is not a sleep-deprived emotional wreck? Which clothes are best if you’re pumping at work? What will fit? These are my tips (and reasons) for what to wear to work after maternity leave, but I’m interested to hear what readers say also. (Psst: you may also want to check out the readers’ and my general tips for returning to work after maternity leave!)
