Everyone Thursday: Merona Tailored Ponte Blazer

We’ve featured this Merona blazer before, and we mentioned it in Frugal Friday’s Workwear Report last week at Corporette, but it remains a great option for a blazer under $50. And since it’s at Target, it also fits into the category of Things You Can Buy While Shopping For Your Kids. This has been around for a long time and has really good reviews, so if you’re looking for an affordable, machine washable blazer, definitely check it out. Depending on the color, it has gone as low as $9, but it’s currently $30 in heather gray and black. It comes in sizes XS-XXL. Merona Tailored Ponte Blazer

Finally Friday: Carmen Sandal

I was looking for a mule to recommend today because right now it’s the style that everyone and their mother seem to be wearing. There are high-heeled mules; low, flat mules; slides; there are furry mules… A lot of them cost a pretty penny, in the $400-$700 sort of range, but then I saw these. They’re not strictly a mule, but I can’t believe it because Sudini was the maker of some of my favorite mules several years ago — they made sort of sleek, pump kind of mules — and the brand went away for a while. They seem to be back, so I’m excited. This one with a peep toe is obviously for a more casual workplace, but the chunky stacked heel and the taupe leather would work in a lot of offices for spring — or for the weekend, as well. There’s also a black if this isn’t your style. It’s $129 at Nordstrom. Carmen Sandal

Everyone Thursday: Airport Greeting Cardigan

This ModCloth cardigan has been a very popular cardigan for Corporette over the years — a lot of people have really liked it. We’re featuring it half zipped, but you can zip it all the way up so that it has a sort of moto look to it, and you can also wear it open for a flowy look. It’s marked dry clean, but not dry clean only. The cardigan comes in six colors, sizes XXS-4X, and it’s only $54. Airport Greeting Cardigan

Finally Friday: Reversible Faux Leather Tote & Wristlet

This reversible tote is super highly rated at Nordstrom, with 778 positive reviews. It comes in the pictured black that reverses to the color of the wristlet, which they’re calling cognac, plus cognac/beige and black/silver. It’s only $48, so if you’re looking for a big tote, I think this one would be great. If you prefer a vegan bag, this fits the bill as well. Reversible Faux Leather Tote & Wristlet

Everyone Thursday: Hidden Pocket Scarf

The handy thing about wearing a heavy winter jacket is that you have pockets to stash your stuff if you want to go somewhere without taking a huge bag (or even a smaller one), but as spring arrives you’ll be relying more on pockets in pants and dresses. (At least, I will!) Another option to consider:  A lot of Etsy sellers make scarves with hidden pockets, like this one from seller Amboo. They’re designed especially for people who are traveling and want to keep their passport and money close at hand, but they’re also great if you want to run out to the library and keep your card on you, or you don’t want to lose your gym card, or you want to keep a $20 on you in case you need it. These are always a good option for spring and some have fun prints. Hidden Pocket Scarf

Finally Friday: 696 Sneaker

I seem to be the only mom my age who did not get the memo that we’re all supposed to have black-and-white sneakers. If you, like me, are hunting for a black-and-white sneaker for the weekend, this New Balance one seems to be the most popular. I see a million women wearing this, often with cropped pants and little ankle socks. It’s $80 at Nordstrom, where it’s also in a gray in case you want to buck the trend. Amazon has some other color choices as well. 696 Sneaker
